A great song and video from the long-established Mexican band formerly named Panda.
Pozole – El Parián. Los Angeles
It was the best pozole I’ve ever had. Generous pieces of stewed meat and chewy hominy in a rich broth. Served with a plate of chopped cabbage, onions, radishes, tomatoes and cilantro, and a dish of dried oregano and crushed peppers… A dash of tapatío and some warm, hand-made tortillas, and I was a happy guy.

Everyone makes such a big deal about the flavor of Mexican Coke, but I really like the bright, fruity soft drinks from Jarritos. The great news is that you can find them almost everywhere in California… Tamarindo is the flavor I most often get.

Maldita Vecindad – Pachuco
Fun video of a great song by one of Mexico’s most lively bands. I saw them perform live at a club in Hollywood in 2002. There was a feeble attempt at a mosh pit, and I saw a beer bottle fly across the room, but over all, it was a really fun concert.
